Kylie cancer fight inspires Trisha

TV presenter Trisha Goddard says she has been inspired by Kylie Minogue in her fight against breast cancer. The 51-year-old chat show host told the Daily Mirror she found the singer’s recovery a comfort when she was diagnosed with the illness herself.
Ms Goddard discovered she had the disease after a routine mammogram and has had two operations to remove cancerous tissue.
She told the newspaper: “Misfortune happens and there’s nothing written anywhere that it shouldn’t happen to me. But I was a bit overwhelmed. There is that fear about not seeing your daughters grow up.”
At first the TV star wanted to keep her illness secret from husband Peter and daughters Billie, 18, and Madison, 13, but later decided to come clean.
The operations have been successful but she may have to continue treatment as a precaution.
Ms Goddard had lunch with the Prime Minister’s wife Sarah four days after surgery, and was inspired by singer Kylie Minogue, the newspaper reports.
She added: “Thank God for Kylie. I’d read so much about her and it was really, ‘Well hang on girl, she’s all right’.”
