The 8,000-strong audience at Wednesday night’s Brit music awards will no doubt still be savouring the final moments of the ceremony when living legend Sir Paul McCartney treated them to a 15-minute set featuring some of his greatest hits. The former Beatle had the Earls Court Arena audience on its feet and joining in a mass sing-song.
He was there to collect his first ever Brit award – for outstanding contribution to music – from Aussie singer Kylie Minogue.

Kylie Minogue has been named Best International Female Solo Artist at the annual Brit awards in London. “I’m all overcome. This is incredible,” the Australian pop princess told the crowd as she collected her award.
Minogue was presented with her award by Doctor Who star David Tennant, with whom she kissed in the Doctor Who Christmas special, Voyage of the Damned.

Britain’s stars have been getting ready for the Brits, the biggest night in the music calendar. Sir Paul McCartney, Amy Winehouse, Kylie Minogue, Leona Lewis and Mark Ronson are performing at the Earls Court event. Ex-Beatle Sir Paul, who will receive an Outstanding Contribution to Music Award, was rehearsing his set.
