Kylie announces 2008 European tour

AAP Australia: November 29, 2007
AUSTRALIAN pop singer Kylie Minogue overnight announced plans for a 2008 European tour. Minogue described the tour - inspired by her new album, released this week and called X - as “fresh, exhilarating and innovative”. “I am putting together a show that is going to be a new and exciting experience for both the audience and myself,” Minogue told her official website, www.kylie.com.
“The eclectic mix of sounds on ‘X’ is affording me an opportunity to explore and develop a new live show.
“After two celebratory tours, ‘X’ will be a look to the future but will definitely include favourites alongside the new. I can’t wait to share it with you.”
The tour will start in Paris on May 6, just three weeks before the diminutive pop star’s 40th birthday.
It will finish at London’s 02 Arena on July 27 after dates across continental Europe, Scandinavia and Northern Ireland.
The announcement should end media speculation that Minogue may have to cancel a planned tour because of health concerns following her recovery from breast cancer.
The former Neighbours star had to suspend her Showgirl tour when she was diagnosed in 2005.
She resumed the tour in November 2006 after beating the illness.
Tickets go on sale for the UK shows on December 3, priced at £49 ($115) each for performances outside Belfast.
The price is the same as for her last, Showgirl Homecoming, tour.
